Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang SP switched socket adds two USB-A charging ports behind a matt black screwless faceplate with a chrome rocker switch. The single-pole switching isolates the live line when the socket is switched off, and the 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 2,990W.

Designed for residential, hospitality and office installation, the socket fits standard 25-35mm back box depths and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This removes visible screws or fixings from the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The 4.3mm projection from the wall keeps the profile low, and a built-in gasket prevents gaps between plate and wall.

The matt black steel faceplate provides a contemporary accent that pairs well with modern, industrial and monochrome interiors, while the chrome rocker switch adds a contrasting metallic detail. The dual USB-A ports deliver a combined 5V DC 2.4A output, allowing two devices to charge simultaneously. Twin earth terminals on the back of the socket ensure secure earthing connections during installation.

A 25-35mm back box depth is needed depending on wiring conditions. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What's the USB charging output?

The dual USB-A ports provide a combined 5V DC 2.4A output shared between both ports. When two devices are plugged in, the 2.4A is split between them.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The matt black cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
