Description

The Knightsbridge CL7PCG is a 13A 1-gang DP switched socket with a polished chrome rounded edge plate and grey insert. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances. The metal rocker switch matches the polished chrome finish of the faceplate.

Designed for residential and commercial installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and projects 7.5mm from the wall once fitted. The 85.75mm square plate size is consistent with UK standard single-gang dimensions. The rounded edge profile softens the transition between the plate and the wall surface, making it a common choice for modern and contemporary interiors where sharp edges are avoided.

The polished chrome finish is a mirror-bright surface treatment applied to premium-grade steel, providing a reflective metallic accent that pairs with cooler-toned interiors, stainless steel appliances and contemporary hardware. The grey insert behind the outlet aperture reduces visual contrast when no plug is inserted, maintaining a cleaner appearance than a black or white insert would on a chrome plate. The socket carries IP20 rating and is certified to BS 1363:2 for UK mains use at 230V 50Hz.

Frequently Asked

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The plate projects 7.5mm from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth from the wall surface to the back of the back box of approximately 32.5mm.

What does the rounded edge design mean?

The plate has gently curved edges rather than sharp corners, creating a softer transition between the faceplate and the wall. This is a design preference common in modern interiors and reduces the visual hardness of the fitting.

What is double-pole switching?

Double-pole (DP) switching isolates both the live and neutral conductors when the socket is switched off, rather than just the live conductor in single-pole switching. This provides additional safety when isolating high-draw appliances or when maintenance is needed.

What other finishes are available in this range?

Knightsbridge produces the rounded edge range in multiple finishes including brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
