Description

The Knightsbridge dual voltage shaver socket provides both 115V and 230V AC outputs behind a brushed chrome square-edge faceplate with a black insert. The twin voltage outputs accommodate electric shavers, toothbrushes and other grooming devices from different markets without needing a separate transformer or adapter.

Designed for bathroom installation, the socket is EN 61558 certified and carries an IP20 rating for use outside of wet zones (zones 1 and 2). It fits a 47mm minimum back box depth and uses a square-edge cover plate design with visible fixing screws top and bottom. The integrated gasket between the faceplate and back box provides a seal against moisture ingress in humid bathroom environments.

The brushed chrome finish has a directional grain that softens reflections under bathroom lighting and pairs cleanly with chrome taps, towel rails and other bathroom fittings. The black insert behind the faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and defines the aperture edges. The socket includes an earth terminal and screw terminals for live, neutral and earth connections. Knightsbridge backs this product with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between 115V and 230V outputs?

The 115V output is for North American and Japanese shavers and grooming devices rated at 110-120V. The 230V output is for UK and European devices rated at 220-240V. Both outlets are isolated transformers, so devices cannot be damaged by plugging into the wrong voltage.

Can this be installed in a shower enclosure?

No. The IP20 rating means this socket is suitable for use outside of wet zones only (zone 0, zone 1 and zone 2 as defined in BS 7671). It must be installed at least 3m horizontally from the edge of a bath or shower, or in a separate room such as an adjacent dressing area.

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The square-edge faceplate adds 10.5mm projection from the wall once fitted.

Is this a screwless design?

No. This is a square-edge design with visible fixing screws at the top and bottom of the faceplate. For a screwless version in the same finish, search for Knightsbridge screwless shaver sockets at Niori.
