Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 3-gang 2-way switch controls three separate lighting circuits independently, each switchable from two locations in the room. The white thermoset resin faceplate carries a 9mm square edge profile and includes screw cap covers that hide the fixing screws once installed, giving a clean white surface with visible rocker switches but no exposed metal.
Designed for residential and commercial installation where multiple lighting zones need control from two points — hallways with switches at both ends, staircases with top and bottom switching, or rooms with doorway and bedside control. The 2-way configuration means each gang can be paired with a corresponding switch elsewhere in the circuit to turn the same light on or off from either location.
The thermoset resin plate is tested to ISO 22196:2011 for anti-microbial properties, reducing bacterial growth on the surface in high-touch environments like care homes, clinics, schools and commercial kitchens. The 10AX rating handles lighting loads up to 2,300W per gang at 230V, suitable for standard LED, CFL and halogen circuits. The plate fits a 16mm minimum back box depth and carries EN 60669-1 certification with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way mean on a light switch?
2-way switching allows a single light or circuit to be controlled from two separate switch locations. Each gang on this switch can be paired with a corresponding 2-way switch elsewhere — common in hallways, staircases and bedrooms where you want to turn the same light on or off from either end of the room.
What back box depth is needed?
A 16mm minimum back box depth is required. The 9mm projection of the faceplate adds to the overall wall projection once the switch is fitted.
What is the anti-microbial coating?
The thermoset resin is tested to ISO 22196:2011 for anti-microbial properties, meaning it inhibits bacterial growth on the surface. This is useful in high-touch environments like care facilities, schools, hospitals and commercial kitchens where hygiene is a priority.
Can this switch handle LED lighting?
Yes. The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W per gang at 230V, suitable for standard LED, CFL and halogen circuits. Most domestic LED lighting draws far less than this — a typical LED downlight circuit of 8-10 lamps draws around 80-100W total.
