Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-gang 2-way switch provides two independent circuits each rated to 10AX, housed behind a polished chrome faceplate with rounded edges and matching chrome rockers. The 2-way switching allows each circuit to be controlled from two separate locations, making this switch suitable for hallways, staircases and through-lounges where lighting needs to be operated from both ends of the room.

The switch fits a standard 16mm minimum back box depth and uses screw terminals for cable connections. An integrated gasket around the back of the faceplate reduces dust ingress and provides IP20 protection, suitable for dry indoor locations. The polished chrome finish gives high reflectivity and pairs well with chrome-finish door handles, radiator valves and bathroom fittings where a cohesive metallic accent is needed.

Built from premium-grade steel rather than brass-plated plastic, the switch carries a 25-year warranty and meets EN 60669-1 certification standards for UK residential and light commercial installation. The 85.75mm square faceplate sits flush with standard UK wall boxes and the 7.5mm projection from the wall is consistent with other Knightsbridge rounded-edge products, allowing multiple switches and sockets to align visually on the same wall run.

Frequently Asked

What does 2-way switching mean?

2-way switching allows a single light or circuit to be controlled from two separate switch locations. This is commonly used in hallways, staircases and rooms with multiple entrances where you need to turn lights on or off from either end.

What is the 10AX rating?

10AX means the switch is rated to handle up to 10 amps at 230V AC. This is suitable for most residential lighting circuits and some low-power appliances. Each of the two gangs on this switch operates independently at the 10AX rating.

What back box depth is required?

The switch requires a minimum 16mm mounting box depth. Most standard UK wall boxes provide 25-35mm depth, so compatibility is not usually an issue in typical residential installations.

What other finishes are available in this range?

Knightsbridge produces the rounded-edge range in multiple finishes including brushed chrome, matt black, polished brass, antique brass and white. Use the search function at Niori to find other variants in stock.
