Built from white thermoset resin with a 9mm square edge plate measuring 86mm x 86mm, the switch fits standard UK 16mm minimum back boxes and uses visible screw fixings with white screw caps for a clean finish once installed. The 10AX rating handles lighting circuits up to 2,300W on 230V mains, suitable for most domestic and light commercial lighting loads including LED, halogen and incandescent bulbs.

What's the difference between an intermediate switch and a 2-way switch?

A 2-way switch is used at each end of a two-position lighting circuit. An intermediate switch sits in the middle of a three-or-more-switch circuit, allowing the light to be controlled from any position. You need two 2-way switches plus one or more intermediate switches to control a single light from three or more locations.

What back box depth is required?

A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed. The 9mm plate projection adds approximately 10mm to the wall once installed, including the screw caps.

Is the square edge plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The plate is screw-fixed to the back box and can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the switch, then refitted using the same fixing screws and screw caps.

What does the anti-microbial property do?

The thermoset resin material has been treated to reduce bacterial growth on the surface, tested to ISO 22196:2011 standards. This makes the switch more hygienic in high-traffic or communal areas where multiple people touch the same switch daily.
