Description

The Knightsbridge SNEB2 is a 100A double pole service connector block with two sets of five-way brass terminals, housed in a black thermoset resin enclosure with a sealable lid. Each pole accommodates up to five rigid conductors at 35mm² maximum cross-section, allowing multiple circuits to be split from incoming meter tails at the consumer unit position.

Designed for meter and mains positions in domestic, commercial and light industrial installations, the block provides a junction point for splitting incoming supply to multiple distribution boards or sub-circuits. The double pole design isolates both live and neutral conductors, meeting wiring regulations for safe isolation at the supply intake. The block fixes to a wall or board using the four corner mounting points visible on the base, and the knockout cable entries on both ends accept standard grommets for secure cable ingress.

The thermoset resin construction resists heat and mechanical stress better than standard thermoplastic enclosures, making it suitable for high-current applications where terminals can warm under sustained load. The brass terminals provide low-resistance contact and resist corrosion in typical indoor environments. The IP20 rating protects against solid objects above 12.5mm but does not provide moisture protection, so the block must be installed in dry locations only. The sealable lid uses two brass screws visible in the image, preventing accidental access once installed and allowing the enclosure to be sealed with a wire tag for inspection or metering purposes.

Frequently Asked

What cable size does it accept?

Each terminal accepts rigid conductors up to 35mm² cross-section. This typically covers meter tails between 16mm² and 25mm², with 35mm² representing the upper limit for heavy-load installations.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating provides protection against solid objects only, not moisture. The block must be installed in dry indoor locations such as meter cupboards, consumer unit enclosures or dry plant rooms.

How is the lid sealed?

The lid fixes with two brass screws. Once tightened, a wire seal can be passed through the screw heads to prevent tampering, which is common practice at metered supply positions where access must be auditable.

Does it meet UK wiring regulations?

The block is certified to EN 60670 and is suitable for use in installations complying with BS 7671 (the UK Wiring Regulations) when installed by a qualified electrician. The double pole design meets isolation requirements for supply intake positions.
