Description

The Knightsbridge SNEB1 is a 100A single pole service connector block with five-way cable capacity and brass terminals, housed in a black thermoset resin enclosure with a sealable lid. The block handles rigid conductors up to 35mm² per terminal and is rated for 230V 50Hz mains installations at meter and consumer unit positions.

Designed for electricians working on domestic and light commercial installations, the connector block fits where multiple incoming or outgoing cables need to join a single supply line without running individual connections through the meter tails. The knockout entries on the base and sides allow cable entry from multiple directions, and the lid seals with a brass screw to prevent accidental contact with live terminals once the installation is complete.

The brass terminals provide corrosion resistance and maintain good conductivity over long service life in indoor environments. The thermoset resin housing is non-conductive and rated IP20, suitable for dry indoor locations behind consumer units or in meter cabinets. The block measures 66mm x 49mm x 35mm, compact enough to fit inside most standard meter enclosures without occupying excessive depth.

Certified to EN 60670, the SNEB1 carries a 25-year warranty from Knightsbridge and suits installations where permanent mains-level connections are needed under controlled conditions. The single pole configuration means this block is not suitable for split-phase or three-phase applications — use only on single-phase supplies where all connected cables share the same voltage potential.

Frequently Asked

What conductor size does it accept?

The block accepts rigid conductors up to 35mm² per terminal. This covers most meter tail and sub-main cable sizes used in UK domestic installations, including 16mm² and 25mm² tails.

Can it be used outdoors or in damp locations?

No. The IP20 rating means the block is suitable only for dry indoor locations such as inside meter cabinets or consumer unit enclosures. It is not rated for outdoor or bathroom use.

Is this suitable for three-phase installations?

No. This is a single pole block, meaning all five terminals share the same electrical potential. For three-phase or split-phase work, you need a multi-pole service connector block where each phase is isolated from the others.

How is the lid secured?

The lid closes over the terminals and is secured with a brass screw, preventing accidental contact once the installation is complete and the enclosure is re-sealed.
