Zanzibar Backlight LED Wall Light With Switch & Wireless Phone Charger - Sand Black

The Zanzibar is a 130mm square LED wall light in sand black with a backlit halo effect, an integrated wireless phone charging shelf, and a small on/off switch. The fixture mounts 160mm from the wall, creating space behind the square faceplate for a 3W 3000K LED that casts 210 lumens of warm white light around the perimeter, outlining the square with a soft glow against the wall surface.

Designed for bedside positions, hotel rooms, hallways and other locations where a phone needs charging overnight or during the day, the Zanzibar combines ambient backlighting with Qi wireless charging in a single compact wall-mounted unit. The charging shelf sits beneath the square faceplate, holding phones flat against the induction coil while they charge. The small switch on the side of the unit controls the LED independently of the charging function, allowing the light to be turned off while the phone continues charging.

The sand black finish is a matte powder coat with a finely textured surface that softens reflections and pairs with dark-toned, mid-century and contemporary interiors. The rounded corners on the square prevent sharp edges and give the fixture a slightly softened profile when viewed from the side. At 1kg total weight, the Zanzibar mounts to plasterboard with suitable fixings or directly to masonry with screws into plugs. The 180-degree beam angle from the backlight creates an even halo around all four edges of the square.

Does the wireless charger work with all phones?

The Zanzibar uses Qi wireless charging, which is compatible with most modern smartphones including iPhone 8 and later, Samsung Galaxy S6 and later, and Google Pixel 3 and later. Phones without built-in Qi support will not charge on the shelf. Check your phone's specifications to confirm Qi compatibility before purchasing.

Can the light be turned off while charging a phone?

Yes. The integrated switch controls only the LED backlight. The wireless charging function remains active regardless of whether the light is on or off, so you can charge a phone in darkness.

What is the charging output?

The wireless charging shelf provides standard Qi output, typically 5W. This is slower than wired fast-charging but suitable for overnight charging or topping up a phone during the day.

How bright is the backlight?

The 3W LED produces 210 lumens at 3000K warm white. This is ambient lighting rather than task lighting — enough to softly illuminate a bedside area or hallway without being harsh, but not bright enough to read by directly.
