The York 1 Light Pendant is a single-lamp ceiling light with a canister-style shade and a clean, industrial line. The outer shade wears a painted natural brass finish, while the inside is finished in a soft pale blue that lifts the light as it reflects, giving a bright and even glow below. Built from steel throughout, it feels solid in the hand and holds its shape and colour well over time.

This pendant suits a good number of interior rooms. Hang it over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, above a bedside table as a reading light, or in a hallway or landing where a compact fitting works best. The adjustable drop lets you set the height to the room, so it sits well under both standard and higher ceilings. It is rated for interior use only. Because the shade throws light downward, it works nicely as a focused task light as well as general lighting.

The fitting is made from steel with a painted natural brass finish and a pale blue painted shade interior. Four rods are supplied in two lengths, so you can build up the drop to the height you need. It takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W, which is not included, so you can choose the look you prefer; colour temperature will depend on the bulb you fit, and the fitting works with dimmable lamps on a compatible dimmer. It runs on mains voltage and is Class I, so it needs an earth connection. To care for it, switch off and let any bulb cool, then wipe with a soft dry cloth.
