Description

A small copper pendant with an aged tone, this one keeps to the essentials: a slim lampholder, a neat ceiling cup and a long flex. The body measures 11cm across, so it reads as a point of light rather than a shape overhead, and the antique copper has a warm, slightly mottled look that sits well with brick, oak and darker paint. It takes a G9 capsule, and we would fit an LED capsule up to 10W for everyday use. With a dimmable capsule and a suitable dimmer, the light can be brought down for evenings.

The flex runs to 5m, which gives scope to hang it well down in a tall hallway, a converted loft or a stairwell. In lower rooms it works in a row over a kitchen island, in a pair either side of a bed, or on its own above a console table. It is one we would choose where a shaded pendant would crowd the space. Keep it to dry rooms: kitchens, bedrooms, landings and living rooms rather than a bathroom or a porch.

The frame is double insulated and made for ordinary indoor household wiring. It arrives as the frame alone, so the shade is yours to choose. A dry cloth is all the copper asks for; leave polishes and sprays out of it, as the antique tone is part of the finish. It carries a one year warranty. The range also comes in antique brass, aged pewter, black chrome, brass gold, French gold, polished nickel, satin nickel, satin black and satin white, and we stock E27 versions for larger lamps. Lamps are not included.
