Description

This is a pendant pared back to essentials: a fine suspension and a compact rounded body ending in a G9 lampholder. It measures 11cm across, small enough to read as jewellery rather than furniture, and the drop adjusts from a short hang to a full five metres, which covers everything from a low kitchen ceiling to a double-height stairwell. The frame is supplied without a shade, so the lamp itself does the work. With a capsule fitted, the light is a bright, concentrated point rather than a broad wash.

It works best in groups above a breakfast bar, either side of a bed, or dropped on its own into a stairwell void beside a tall window. Because the body is so small, it suits rooms already busy with pattern or joinery, where a larger shade would crowd things. We reach for it where a wide pendant would sit too heavy over a worktop, and we would fit an LED capsule, kept to 10W and run on a dimmer if you want the light to drop back after dark. Suitable lamps and a dimmer switch are needed for that.

The finish is antique brass, warm and gently darkened so it settles in against wood and older paint colours rather than glinting. In use, keep it simple: isolate the power, give it a moment to cool, then lift dust with a dry duster and nothing wetter, since polishes and creams will cut into the ageing. It belongs in dry rooms indoors, on an ordinary household supply. It carries a one year warranty. The range runs through other finishes, among them polished nickel, satin black and aged pewter, with an E27 version for anyone wanting a larger lamp. Lamps are not included.
