Description

A small suspension body in polished nickel, 11cm across, hung on a single flex that runs to a generous 5m so the height is yours to set. It is supplied as a frame only, which means the shade is a separate choice: a glass dome, a fabric drum, anything with a fitting that suits an E27 holder. The lamp itself sits in an E27 socket rated to 20W, and the pendant will dim once a compatible lamp and dimmer are put with it.

That long flex is why we keep it on the shelf for stairwells, landings and tall rooms, where an ordinary pendant hangs too far short of where the light is wanted. Shortened, it does the everyday jobs just as neatly: two or three in a line over a kitchen island, one above a small dining table, or a single drop at each side of a bed to free up the surfaces below. Because the metalwork is slim, the shade you choose does the talking, so it suits anyone matching a pendant to shades already in the room.

The nickel is polished to a bright, reflective finish that picks up whatever daylight the room has, and the fitting is double insulated. Keep it to dry indoor rooms; a bathroom or a covered porch asks for something rated for damp. For upkeep, isolate the supply, let the lamp lose its heat, then bring the nickel back with a soft dry cloth. Metal polishes and cream cleaners will take the shine off, so leave them in the cupboard. The Wick body is made in several finishes, among them satin nickel, black chrome, French gold and aged pewter, with a G9 version for smaller lamps. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included.

What lamp should I use?
