Description

A small pendant that keeps the fuss down and lets the finish do the talking. The polished nickel head measures 80mm across, mirror-bright and cool in tone, so it catches whatever light is already in the room and hands a little back. Below the slim body sits a G9 capsule lamp, which is what allows the whole thing to stay so compact, and it will dim happily enough as long as the capsule you choose is dimmable and the dimmer is a compatible one.

Because the head is so slight, it works where a broader shade would crowd things: hung in twos or threes along a kitchen island, dropped either side of a bed in place of table lamps, or set over a narrow console in a hallway. The suspension is long enough to sit high in a stairwell or come down close to a worktop, so the same fitting behaves quite differently depending on where you stop it. We reach for this one on jobs where the ceiling is low and a conventional shade would sit in the eyeline.

The polished nickel is bright and even, and it stays that way with very little effort: a dry cloth over the body now and then, and nothing in the way of sprays or metal creams, which take the gloss off a mirrored surface. Stick to a capsule of 10W or less. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same shape in satin nickel, black chrome, aged pewter, antique copper, French gold, brass gold, satin black, satin white and antique brass, and there is a slightly longer-bodied version taking an E27 lamp if you would rather use a larger bulb. Lamps are not included.
