Description

Small, spare and quietly metallic, this is a pendant that asks for very little room. The body is slim and the shade sits just 80mm across, so it reads as a point of light rather than a shape in the way. Satin nickel gives a soft grey sheen that catches light without glare, and the height is adjustable, so it can hang close under the ceiling or well down over a work surface. It takes a G9 capsule.

We like these hung in small groups, evenly spaced along an island or a breakfast bar, where a wider shade would crowd the run. Used alone, it works beside a bed, in a hallway, above a console table, or in an awkward corner no lamp can reach. Because the drop can be set short, it suits rooms with limited head height as readily as tall stairwells. It will dim, given a compatible lamp and dimmer, which is worth doing where the pendant hangs near eye level.

Satin nickel holds its look with almost no effort: a dry duster now and then, and nothing abrasive or solvent based, keeps the sheen even. Keep it to dry indoor rooms; a bathroom or a covered porch would ask more of it than it is made for. The lamp is rated to 10W at most, which an LED capsule sits well inside, and lamps are not included. It carries a one year warranty.
