Wick E27 Pendant Light 10cm Dia 1.7m Drop - Black Chrome

Black chrome gives this little pendant a dark, mirror-bright surface that picks up the colours of a room rather than shouting over them. The body is compact, 10cm across and 14cm tall, and it hangs on a flex that can be set short or long to suit the ceiling height. A single E27 lampholder sits inside, taking a lamp of up to 20W, and the light will dim where a dimmable lamp is paired with a suitable dimmer. Fitted with a clear globe lamp, the plating catches the filament and gives you a second copy of it.

We use pendants of this size where one larger fitting would feel heavy: hung in a row along a kitchen island, dropped low over a breakfast bar, or on its own above a console table in a hallway. Because the drop can be shortened, it also suits either side of a bed, set at whatever reading height you like. It is a sensible choice for smaller rooms and lower ceilings, and for anyone happy to let the lamp itself do the visible work. Keep it to dry indoor rooms on a normal household supply; a shower room or an open porch needs a sealed fitting instead.

The plated finish is the whole appeal here, so treat it kindly. Switch off at the wall, let the lamp go cold, then wipe the metal with a soft dry cloth and keep polishes and cream cleaners away from it altogether. The fitting is double insulated, and it carries a one year warranty. Pick two or three for a run over a worktop and space them evenly for the best effect. Lamps are not included.

How far down does it hang?

The drop is adjustable from 200mm at its shortest to a maximum of 1500mm, so it can sit high in a hallway or drop low over a worktop.

What lamp should I use?

It takes one E27 lamp rated up to 20W. An LED is the sensible choice, and the shape you pick will change the look a good deal, so a clear globe or a decorative filament both work well here.

Can I put it on a dimmer?

Yes, provided you fit a dimmable lamp and a dimmer matched to it. Neither the lamp nor the dimmer comes with the pendant.

How big is the body?

The metal body measures 100mm in diameter and 140mm in height, which keeps it small enough to hang several in a line without crowding.

How do I keep the black chrome looking right?

Dust it with a soft dry cloth once the power is off and the lamp has cooled. Avoid abrasive pads, metal polish and anything solvent based, as plating scratches easily.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated for dry indoor spaces only, so choose a properly sealed fitting for bathrooms and anywhere exposed to weather.
