Description

Wick is a compact pendant with a neat cylindrical body, 10cm across and 14cm tall, in an aged pewter finish that reads soft and slightly darkened rather than bright. It takes an E27 lamp, so your choice of lamp can follow whatever shade you pair it with, and the suspension can be set at a range of drops to suit the room. Dimming is possible with a compatible lamp and a separate dimmer.

This is the sort of pendant we reach for when several small lights are wanted rather than one large one: strung in a row above a kitchen island, over a run of worktop, or dropped either side of a bed in place of table lamps. It sits happily in a hallway too, where a wider fitting would crowd the space. Because the body is small and the finish quiet, it works as well in a plain painted room as it does against tile or timber, and it will not fight with the shade you choose for it.

The pewter finish is best kept simple: a light going over with a dry duster now and then, and a slightly damp cloth only if fingermarks appear, with the power off and the lamp cold first. Nothing abrasive and no polish, as scouring will cut through the aged surface. The fitting is double insulated and intended for dry rooms indoors, away from splashes and steam. It carries a one year warranty. We stock this E27 body in antique brass, antique copper, black chrome and brass gold as well, and there is a G9 version of the same shape if you want a smaller lamp behind a narrow shade, including satin black, polished nickel, satin nickel, French gold and satin white. Maximum lamp rating is 20W. Lamps are not included.
