Description

The Viena is a 715mm diameter 8-light chandelier built on a radial polished brass frame with eight curved arms extending from a central hub. Each arm terminates in a frosted glass torch shade with clear glass edges, housing a G9 bulb socket. The frosted glass diffuses light outward while the clear upper section creates a defined edge to each shade.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3m, the Viena uses a telescopic rod that adjusts between 550mm and 730mm drop during installation. This allows the chandelier to sit at the correct height above a dining table (typically 750-850mm) or in a double-height entrance hall where a longer drop is needed. The 715mm diameter suits tables 1.6m to 2m long or central positions in rooms 4m to 5m square.

The polished brass finish reflects light from the eight bulbs across the curved arms, adding warmth to the ambient glow. The frosted torch shades diffuse 320W total output (eight G9 bulbs at 40W each, sold separately) into soft general illumination rather than focused task light. The chandelier is dimmable when paired with compatible G9 dimmable LED or halogen bulbs and a trailing-edge dimmer. The 4.1kg weight requires a ceiling rose capable of supporting chandeliers. Installation into plasterboard alone is not recommended.

The chandelier takes eight G9 capsule bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. We suggest pairing this with G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light. Ensure the bulbs are marked as dimmable if you plan to use a dimmer.

How is the drop adjusted?

The telescopic rod adjusts between 550mm and 730mm during installation. The rod is set to the desired length before final fixing to the ceiling rose, then locked in position. Once installed, the drop cannot be adjusted without dismounting the chandelier.

What table size does this suit?

The 715mm diameter works well above dining tables 1.6m to 2m long. For longer tables (2.4m+), consider using two pendants or a larger chandelier. The chandelier typically sits 750-850mm above the table surface to provide comfortable ambient light without obstructing sightlines.

Can it be installed on a standard ceiling rose?

Yes, provided the ceiling rose is securely fixed to a joist or ceiling support capable of bearing 4.1kg. Installation into plasterboard alone without proper reinforcement is not recommended due to the weight.
