Description

Vegas is a floor lamp in antique brass. A slim antique brass column rising from a shallow round disc base, bending over near the top into a long swan neck that reaches out and finishes in a small shallow oval head. The head is an open shell rather than a closed shade, so the lamp inside shows as a bright line when you look up into it. A short cylindrical collar is set into the stem at about chest height and carries the switch, breaking the brass with a single turned joint. The brass is a warm aged tone throughout, matched on the base, the stem and the head. The base is heavy and low and the whole lamp leans forward over where you sit.

It stands beside a chair or at the end of a sofa, where it puts one pool of light exactly where it is needed without lighting the whole space. That is what a floor lamp is for: it takes the reading light off the ceiling and puts it at shoulder height, so the room can be lit softly and still be worked in.

The LED is built in at 7W, so there is no bulb to buy and none to fit. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms. It carries an F energy label.

No. The LED is built into the fitting, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to fit.

What happens when the LED fails?

The fitting is replaced rather than relamped. At 7W and normal domestic use that is many years away.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
