Description

A small candle lamp on the E14 screw fitting, with a clear outer that keeps the light looking crisp rather than milky and soft. It draws 4W and returns 470 lumens of warm white, which puts it in the same territory as the little candle lamps people are usually replacing. Light spreads all round rather than throwing forward, so it behaves well in fittings that leave the lamp on show. It dims too, on a control matched to LED loads.

We use these in chandeliers, candle-style wall lights and slim pendants, and they work just as happily in a bedside lamp or a picture light where the glass is visible. The narrow candle shape slips inside small clip-on shades without crowding them. If you are swapping out a whole fitting's worth of older lamps, this is the size and shape we would order by the box. Do bear in mind that a suitable dimmer is required for dimming, and no dimmer comes with the lamp.

The clear glass envelope and standard candle profile keep it looking like a lamp rather than a piece of technology, which matters in an open-armed fitting where every part is in view. Wipe the glass with a dry cloth from time to time, once the power is off and the lamp has gone cold; skip solvents and anything gritty, as they will dull the surface. Handle it by the base rather than the glass when fitting. It carries a three year warranty.
