Universal Diffuser 60cm - White & Black

A plain round face of frosted acrylic, 60cm across, with a small black disc set at its centre. The frosting spreads light evenly, so the panel reads as one soft glowing circle rather than a scatter of bright spots, and the dark centre gives the eye somewhere to settle. This is a spare or replacement part rather than a light in its own right, made to pair with a compatible ceiling fitting and take over the job of the original panel.

We reach for the large size in kitchens, wide landings and open hallways, where a broad, quiet ceiling light does more good than something with presence. It suits anyone whose existing panel has cracked, yellowed or gone missing and who wants the same gentle spread of light back, and it is worth keeping one aside as a spare where a fitting sees heavy daily use. Acrylic is light in the hand and far less brittle than glass, which counts for a good deal at this diameter. The white face is opal right through rather than coated, and the black centre is there purely for contrast. For cleaning, warm water with a drop of washing up liquid on a soft cloth is all it wants; solvents, alcohol wipes and abrasive creams will haze acrylic quickly, so leave them in the cupboard.
