Description

Frosted acrylic in opal white, this is a flat round diffuser panel made to sit in a fitting that has lost its own or needs its glare softened. Light passes through the frosted face and comes out even and milky, without the hot spot you get from a bare lamp. At 45cm across it is one of the wider sizes we hold, and it reads as a clean pale circle when the light is off.

We reach for it where a light is doing steady work rather than setting a mood: kitchens, utility rooms, hallways and landings, a home office where a bare lamp would be tiring to sit under. It is also the sensible fix when an existing diffuser has cracked, yellowed or gone missing and the fitting itself is sound. Check the size you need against the fitting first, since diffusers of this kind are sold by diameter. It holds no lamp of its own, so the light output stays whatever the host fitting gives it.

Acrylic keeps the weight down, which matters on a panel this wide, and it will not chip the way glass does when handled. The white is consistent across the face with no pattern to line up.
