Description

A flat round panel of frosted acrylic, opal white right across its face, made to sit in front of a lamp and take the hard edge off it. At 40cm across it covers a good span of ceiling while staying slim and light in the hand. The frosting is even, so light spreads without hot spots or the shape of the lamp showing through. It is the sort of part that does its job quietly: no pattern, no texture, just a clean white face that reads as a soft disc of light once the lamp is on.

This is the part people come looking for when the original has yellowed, cracked or gone missing and the fitting itself is perfectly sound. We keep it as a spare for kitchens, landings, hallways and utility rooms where a plain white circle of light is all that is wanted. It suits simple round ceiling fittings, and it is one we point customers towards rather than watch a good fitting be thrown out. It is a sensible thing to have to hand in a rented flat or a busy family kitchen, where the diffuser takes more knocks than the rest of the fitting ever will. The lamp behind it is whatever the host fitting already takes.

Clean it with a soft cloth and warm soapy water, then dry it off; solvents, spirits and scouring pads will haze the surface, so keep them well away. It carries a one year warranty.
