Description

The Tycho is a 45cm-diameter ring chandelier built around six ribbed crystal glass cylinders held in a gold-plated brass frame. Each cylinder is gripped top and bottom by a polished brass cradle, with the cradles linked into a continuous central band that forms the structural ring. Six G9 lamp holders sit inside the cylinders, casting light vertically up and down through the ribbed glass.

Suspended on three gold cables from a circular ceiling plate, the chandelier suits dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher. The 150cm cable length allows the fitting to be hung 700-800mm above a dining table or staged lower in a stairwell where the full perimeter of glass cylinders is visible from below as well as side-on. Cable length can be shortened on installation.

The ribbed glass cylinders refract the G9 light source into vertical lines that read as warm streaks against the polished brass band, while the open top and bottom of each cylinder spill direct light onto the ceiling and the surface below. At 50cm tall and 45cm wide, the chandelier reads as a horizontal band rather than a tiered fitting, which keeps it appropriate for rooms with moderate ceiling heights where a deeper chandelier would feel heavy.

The chandelier takes six G9 capsule bulbs rated up to 33W each. G9 LED equivalents around 3-5W are recommended to reduce heat near the glass cylinders and keep running costs low. Bulbs are sold separately.

Is the cable length adjustable?

Yes. The supplied cable length is 150cm and can be shortened on installation by your electrician to suit ceiling height. The three suspension cables and the central power cable are all routed through the ceiling plate.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The Tycho works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, particularly over a dining table where it can sit 700-800mm above the surface. It also suits stairwells and double-height halls where the chandelier is viewed from multiple levels.

How is the chandelier cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe the brass band with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. The ribbed glass cylinders can be cleaned with a barely-damp cloth and dried immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or sprays directly onto the gold-plated frame.
