Description

The Knightsbridge Track X-Connector joins four single-circuit track sections in a cross configuration, creating a central junction point from which track can extend in four perpendicular directions. The connector is built from white polycarbonate housing with internal copper conductors rated for 230V mains power, forming a 181mm square footprint that sits 18mm proud of the ceiling once installed.

Designed for commercial retail, hospitality and residential track lighting installations where flexibility is needed to change lighting positions or extend track runs after the initial installation. The X-connector is compatible with Knightsbridge's TRKSPxx series single-circuit tracks and can function as either a central power feed point (if the mains supply is brought into the centre of the room) or as a passive junction linking four track sections powered from elsewhere in the run.

The white polycarbonate finish matches Knightsbridge's white track sections and provides a clean, unobtrusive ceiling appearance in spaces with white or light-coloured ceilings. The IP20 rating limits the connector to dry indoor environments. Class I earthing requires a continuous earth connection through all joined track sections back to the electrical supply.

Frequently Asked

What track system is this compatible with?

This X-connector is compatible with Knightsbridge's TRKSPxx series single-circuit track lighting systems. It will not work with multi-circuit tracks or track systems from other manufacturers without adapter components.

Can this be used as a power feed point?

Yes. The connector can function as a central power feed if the mains supply is brought into the centre of the cross junction, or it can act as a passive junction linking four track sections powered from a feed point elsewhere in the track run.

What installation method is required?

The X-connector is typically surface-mounted to the ceiling using the fixing points visible on each arm of the cross. Track sections then click into each of the four connection points. A qualified electrician should carry out the installation to ensure correct earthing and compliance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.

Can track sections of different lengths be joined at the X-connector?

Yes. Each of the four connection points accepts any length of compatible TRKSPxx track, allowing asymmetrical layouts where one arm of the cross might extend 3m while another extends only 1m depending on room layout and lighting requirements.
