Description

The Knightsbridge Track X-Connector is a single-circuit junction piece that joins four track lighting sections in a cross configuration, creating a four-way intersection point within a track lighting run. The 181mm square cross-shaped connector body houses copper conductors behind a black polycarbonate housing rated to IP20 for indoor use on 230V 50Hz mains.

Designed for commercial retail, gallery, and domestic track lighting installations where multiple track runs need to meet at a central point, the X-connector allows power to flow through all four arms of the intersection. It can also function as a central power feed point when one arm is connected to the mains supply and the other three arms distribute power to separate track runs radiating outwards from the junction.

The connector is compatible with Knightsbridge's TRKSPxx single-circuit track series and uses the same recessed twin-rail system to maintain electrical continuity across the junction. The black polycarbonate finish matches the TRKSPxx track housing, creating a continuous colour line across the ceiling when installed. The 18mm projection sits flush with standard track depth, so pendant fittings and spotlights can be positioned right up to the connector body without clearance issues.

Frequently Asked

What track system is this compatible with?

This X-connector works with Knightsbridge's TRKSPxx single-circuit track series. It will not fit three-circuit track systems or track from other manufacturers unless they share identical rail spacing and conductor configuration.

Can all four arms carry power?

Yes. When the connector is wired into a powered track run, all four arms carry the same single-circuit power. You can also use one arm as the mains feed point and the other three as distribution arms radiating outwards from the junction.

How is it installed?

The connector slots into the ends of four track sections meeting at a cross junction. The internal copper conductors align with the twin-rail system in the track to maintain electrical continuity. Installation requires the mains supply to be isolated before fitting.

Does it support dimming?

The connector itself is a passive junction with no dimming electronics. If the track system is controlled by a compatible dimmer on the mains circuit, the dimming function will work across all four arms of the X-connector.
