Description

The Tosca is a 360mm square flush ceiling light built around a polished chrome base plate supporting four G9 bulb positions behind a precision-cut crystal frame. The crystal elements form a geometric border around a central frosted glass diffuser, with a single faceted crystal sphere suspended below the fitting on a short chrome rod. Each G9 bulb (sold separately) sits behind the crystal border, casting light through the facets and onto the frosted glass above.

Designed for low-ceiling bedrooms, hallways, bathrooms (zone 2 or 3 only - no IP rating provided) and smaller living spaces with ceiling heights under 2.4m, the Tosca provides ambient light without the drop required by pendant fittings. The 180mm height from ceiling to underside of the crystal sphere means the fitting projects 180mm into the room once installed, leaving typical ceiling heights around 2.2m clear beneath. The four G9 bulbs combine to deliver up to 132W of light output if using maximum-rated 33W halogen capsules, though most installations now use 3-5W LED G9 equivalents for lower running costs.

The Tosca takes four G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose warm-white LED G9 bulbs rated 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for lower running costs and reduced heat output compared to halogen.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible LED dimmer switch. Not all G9 LED bulbs are dimmable - check the bulb specification before purchasing.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting projects 180mm from the ceiling to the base of the crystal sphere. It suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above. Lower ceilings risk head clearance issues in circulation areas.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The specification does not list an IP rating, so the Tosca is not rated for bathroom zones 0 or 1 (shower enclosures, directly above baths). It may be used in zone 2 (600mm+ from a bath or shower) or zone 3 (general bathroom areas outside the immediate splash zones), provided the room is adequately ventilated to prevent moisture build-up.
