Description

The Torino is a 74cm crystal chandelier built around a French gold spiral frame carrying eight E14 candle bulb fittings, each draped with Asfour crystal droplets and beads. The frame curves upward from a central column into scrolled arms that support the bulb holders, with octagonal crystal strands hanging between each arm and a central droplet suspended below the frame.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.8m or above, the Torino requires vertical clearance to accommodate its 940mm minimum drop and 740mm diameter. The adjustable chain allows the chandelier to hang anywhere between 940mm and 2390mm below the ceiling rose, making it suitable for double-height spaces, galleried landings and period properties with high ceilings. The 7kg weight requires a ceiling rose and fixing rated for the load.

The French gold finish is a warm-toned metallic coating applied to the metal frame, sitting between polished brass and antique brass in colour temperature. Each of the eight arms carries Asfour-cut crystals — a machine-cut lead crystal from Egypt known for high clarity and consistent faceting. The crystals are strung on thin wire as beads and suspended individually as droplets, catching and scattering light from the eight bulbs when lit. The chandelier ships without bulbs or shades, though the image shows it fitted with pleated fabric shades (IL30500, sold separately).

The E14 small Edison screw fittings accept candle-shaped bulbs up to 60W each, though most installations use 4-6W LED candle bulbs at 2700K for a warm white light that complements the gold frame. The chandelier is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Installation requires competent electrical work — the chandelier connects to a standard UK ceiling rose but the weight, crystal assembly and chain adjustment mean this is not a DIY fitting for most users.
