Description

The Torino is a single-light crystal wall sconce in French gold with an integrated pull-cord switch, a curved scrollwork arm and faceted Asfour crystal droplets hanging from the frame. The E14 candle bulb (sold separately) sits inside a clear glass flame-tip shade with a polished gold sleeve at the base, and the light reflects through the cut crystal and against the polished gold backplate.

Designed for bedside installation, hallways and lounge reading corners where switched wall lighting replaces bedside table lamps or supplements ceiling lights, the integrated pull-cord allows the light to be turned on and off without reaching for a wall switch. The 240mm projection from the wall gives clearance for a pillow when mounted beside a bed, and the 260mm height fits comfortably between a typical bedside height of 600-700mm and the ceiling. The gold finish pairs with warm-toned interiors, brass hardware and traditional or transitional décor.

The crystal droplets are precision-cut Asfour crystal from Egypt, chosen for consistent clarity and refractive quality across the Diyas Torino range. The Torino takes a single E14 candle bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside or ambient hallway lighting. A flame-tip or bent-tip candle bulb suits the clear glass shade.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable E14 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The pull-cord switch itself is on/off only and does not provide dimming control.

How does the pull-cord switch work?

The pull-cord hangs from the bottom of the backplate and controls the light independently of the wall circuit. The circuit must be permanently live (or switched on at the wall) for the pull-cord to function. This allows bedside control without reaching for a wall switch.

What height should it be mounted at?

For bedside use, mount the centre of the backplate 600-700mm above the mattress height, positioning it slightly above pillow level to avoid the projection interfering with headspace. For hallway or lounge use, 1500-1700mm from the floor is typical.
