Description

The Torch is a 50mm diameter vertical LED pendant light with a sand black finish, housing an integrated 11W 3000K LED inside a narrow acrylic tube. The cylindrical glass diffuser delivers a 120° beam angle and 900 lumens of warm white light in a downward-focused column, making it functional task and accent lighting rather than broad ambient fill.

Designed for installation over kitchen islands, bar counters, stairwells and entryways, the Torch works as a single centrepiece or in groups of three to five pendants spaced 400-600mm apart. The adjustable drop ranges from 750mm to 2000mm on installation, allowing the pendant to be set 700-900mm above a worktop in standard-height kitchens or extended further in double-height spaces. The slim 50mm diameter means multiple pendants can be grouped without visual clutter.

The sand black finish is a textured matt coating over the metal canopy and outer glass tube, diffusing reflections and pairing cleanly with black-framed windows, dark cabinetry and industrial-style interiors. The acrylic inner diffuser prevents direct LED glare while maintaining the clean tubular silhouette. At 0.57kg the pendant is lightweight enough to be supported by standard UK ceiling roses without additional bracing.

The 3000K warm white output gives a soft tone similar to traditional incandescent lighting. The 120 degree column spread means light reaches walls and ceiling rather than falling in a single narrow pool. At 0.57kg the fitting adds little load to the ceiling rose, keeping installation straightforward, while the 900lm output covers task lighting over a worktop or ambient light across a run of 2 or 3 grouped units.

No. The integrated LED operates at a fixed 11W output and is not compatible with dimmer switches. If dimming is needed, consider pairing with a smart switch that controls on/off rather than attempting to dim the LED driver.

How many pendants are needed for a kitchen island?

A 1.5m island typically takes three Torch pendants spaced 400-500mm apart. A 2m island can accommodate four to five pendants. The slim 50mm diameter allows tighter groupings than larger pendant styles without visual crowding.

What is the light distribution?

The Torch casts a focused downward column of light with a 120° beam angle, making it task lighting rather than ambient fill. The 900lm output is comparable to a 60W halogen bulb, sufficient for countertop task lighting but not for lighting an entire room as the sole source.

How is the drop length adjusted?

The cable and suspension system can be shortened during installation by an electrician. The pendant ships with a 2000mm maximum drop; cutting the cable and re-terminating inside the canopy allows any drop between 750mm and 2000mm.
