The Tonic is a 98mm-diameter glass pendant light with a polished chrome cylindrical shade, black ceiling mount and a single GX53 LED fitting inside the glass tube. The GX53 bulb (included) provides 3000K warm white light that shines down through the open base of the chrome cylinder, casting a focused pool of light directly below the pendant.

Designed for task lighting over kitchen worktops, bar counters, reception desks and bedside positions, the Tonic works as a single pendant or in rows of two, three or more spaced 600-800mm apart. The adjustable drop ranges from 480mm minimum to 2000mm maximum, making it suitable for standard 2.4m ceiling heights (where the pendant hangs 600-900mm above a worktop) and for taller spaces including mezzanines and vaulted ceilings. The black fabric cable and canopy provide visual contrast against the reflective chrome body.

The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and colour, so the pendant takes on the ambient tones of the room rather than dominating it. The GX53 fitting is a low-profile disk-style base, commonly used in European compact luminaires, and the LED is dimmable when paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer (dimmer sold separately). The 1.05kg weight includes the chrome glass cylinder, cable assembly and ceiling mount, making it light enough to install on standard ceiling roses without additional reinforcement.

Is the LED bulb included?

Yes. The Tonic ships with a 12W GX53 LED bulb at 3000K warm white. The GX53 format is a low-profile disk-style fitting, less common than GU10 or E27 but widely available as a replacement from LED bulb suppliers.

Can it be dimmed?

The GX53 LED is dimmable, but requires a compatible trailing-edge dimmer on the circuit. Not all standard dimmers work reliably with LED bulbs — check your dimmer's compatibility or contact us before pairing with an existing dimmer installation.

What drop length works over a kitchen island?

For a standard 2.4m ceiling height, set the pendant to drop 600-900mm above the worktop. This typically means a total drop of 1400-1700mm from ceiling to pendant base, depending on worktop height. The cable is adjustable on installation between 480mm and 2000mm.

Can multiple pendants be installed in a row?

Yes. The Tonic is commonly installed in clusters of two, three or more along a kitchen island, bar counter or dining table. Space pendants 600-800mm apart for balanced coverage without overlap.
