Description

The Tonic is a 98mm chrome-finished glass pendant light with a dimmable GX53 LED socket producing 3000K warm white light. The pendant head combines a clear glass lens with a chrome housing and a 2000mm adjustable cable, allowing it to be set at any height from a standard ceiling rose or multi-outlet canopy.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands, hallway runs and bedside positions, the Tonic works as a single downlight over a small table or in rows of three to five pendants over longer surfaces. The compact 98mm diameter head keeps visual clutter low when multiple fittings are grouped together. The chrome finish reflects surrounding light and picks up tones from adjacent surfaces, making it adapt to both warm-toned timber interiors and cooler neutral schemes.

The GX53 socket accepts standard GX53 LED lamps (sold separately), which sit flush within the chrome housing and direct light downwards through the glass lens. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific GX53 lamp chosen and the dimmer model. Check both lamp packaging and dimmer specifications before pairing. The glass lens softens the beam slightly compared to a bare LED, reducing glare when the pendant is positioned within direct sightlines.

The 2000mm drop can be shortened at installation to place the head at the height needed for each position. When grouping three to five pendants over an island, spacing them at 400 to 600mm intervals keeps the light even along the surface. For a single fitting used for task work, a drop that sets the head 700 to 800mm above the worktop keeps the beam close to the surface without obstructing the sightline across the room. The 0.83kg weight suits a standard ceiling rose.

No. The pendant uses a GX53 socket but the bulb is sold separately. We suggest pairing this with a 7-12W GX53 LED rated at 3000K to match the warm white specification. Check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility if you plan to use dimming controls.

What height should the pendant hang above a dining table?

For a dining table, position the bottom of the pendant 700-800mm above the table surface. The 2000mm cable is adjustable on installation, so measure your ceiling height and subtract the desired drop height to calculate how much cable to shorten during fitting.

Can multiple Tonic pendants be installed in a row?
