Description

The Tonic is a 98mm cylindrical glass pendant light with a copper-toned reflective finish, suspended on a black cable from a black ceiling canopy. The pendant houses a single GX53 LED disc rated at 12W and 2700K warm white, positioned to cast light downward through the open base of the cylinder while reflecting warmth off the copper inner surface.

Designed for use above dining tables, breakfast bars, kitchen islands and side tables, the Tonic works both as a solo accent and in linear or clustered multiples over longer surfaces. The 480mm minimum drop suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when hung 700-800mm above a table, while the adjustable 2000mm maximum drop accommodates higher ceilings in double-height spaces or stairwells. The narrow 98mm diameter keeps the visual footprint small, making it suitable for tighter spaces where larger pendants would dominate.

The copper finish is applied to the outer glass surface and reflects both the internal LED and any ambient room light, giving the pendant a warm metallic glow even when switched off. The black cable and canopy provide tonal contrast and recede visually against dark or textured ceilings. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmer. Consult the dimmer manufacturer's load rating to confirm compatibility with the 12W GX53 LED.

The 100-240V voltage range and 50/60Hz frequency mean the pendant runs on standard UK mains without a driver box. Warm white at 2700K reads softer than 3000K or 4000K, giving a relaxed tone for evening use. At 1.05kg the fitting hangs from a standard ceiling rose, and a one-year warranty applies.

Is the LED bulb replaceable?

Yes. The Tonic uses a GX53 disc-style LED that twists into the lampholder. GX53 LEDs are widely available in warm white (2700K-3000K) and cool white (4000K-6000K) options, typically rated between 7W and 15W.

Can this be used in multiples?

Yes. The narrow 98mm diameter allows multiple Tonic pendants to be hung in a row over a dining table or kitchen island without visual clutter. Space them 300-500mm apart along the centre line of the table for balanced coverage.

What dimmer type is compatible?

The Tonic requires a trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmer rated for LED loads. Check the dimmer's minimum load rating. Some older dimmers require a higher wattage than a single 12W LED provides and may flicker or hum. Modern LED-specific dimmers rated for loads as low as 5W work reliably with this fitting.

How is the drop adjusted?

The cable length is adjusted during installation by feeding excess cable into the ceiling canopy. Once the desired drop is set (between 480mm minimum and 2000mm maximum), the canopy is fixed to the ceiling rose and the excess cable remains concealed inside.
