Tonic 8 Light Dimmable LED Glass Bar Pendant - 2700K Multicoloured

The Tonic is an 8 light LED bar pendant with eight individual glass shades suspended from a 500mm x 300mm black rectangular canopy. The shades are finished in three different metallic tones — copper, chrome and bronze — arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the canopy. Each shade houses a GX53 LED disc (sold separately), rated at 2700K warm white, and the entire fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living spaces, the Tonic suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.5m or above. The 480mm minimum drop brings the lowest pendant head approximately 400mm above a standard dining table, while the maximum 2000mm drop allows the fitting to work in double-height spaces or above worktops with very high ceilings. The rectangular canopy mounts to a standard ceiling rose and the individual pendants hang on black cables that conceal the wiring run.

The mix of copper, chrome and bronze finishes gives the fitting a multi-tonal presence without clashing — the three metallic tones share enough visual weight to read as intentional rather than mismatched. The glass shades diffuse the downward light while the metallic upper caps reflect light back towards the ceiling, creating both task and ambient function. The 7.1kg combined weight requires secure ceiling fixings, particularly in plasterboard ceilings where additional support may be needed.

The fitting is supplied by Mantra, a Spanish manufacturer of contemporary and modern lighting. The GX53 socket format uses flat LED discs rather than traditional bulbs, which reduces the visual bulk of the light source and gives each shade a cleaner internal profile. Replacement GX53 LEDs are widely available and the dimmable specification allows output to be adjusted for different times of day.

Are the GX53 LED discs included?

No. The Tonic is supplied without bulbs. You will need to purchase eight GX53 LED discs separately. Most users choose 2700K warm white to match the fitting's design intent, but 3000K or 4000K variants are also compatible if you prefer a cooler light.

What dimmer is compatible?

The fitting is dimmable when used with GX53 dimmable LEDs and a trailing-edge dimmer. Confirm the dimmer's wattage capacity covers the total load of all eight bulbs — if using 8W GX53s, the combined load is 64W.

What table length does it suit?

The 500mm canopy length suits dining tables or kitchen islands between 1.4m and 2m long. For longer tables, consider positioning the pendant centrally and adding additional lighting at the table ends.

Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling?

The rectangular canopy is designed for flat ceiling installation. On sloped ceilings the canopy would sit at an angle and the pendants would not hang vertically, which would compromise the intended symmetry.
