Description

The Tonic is a 720mm three-light bar pendant from Mantra, pairing brushed bronze glass shades with a matt black rectangular canopy and polished chrome suspension rods. Each of the three shades houses an integrated GX53 LED module emitting 4000K cool white light, designed to deliver task-focused illumination over kitchen islands, dining tables and workbenches.

Designed for installation over surfaces 1.8-2.4m wide, the three pendants are spaced evenly across the 720mm canopy length, creating balanced coverage without clustering. The drop height is adjustable between 480mm minimum and 2000mm maximum, allowing the fixture to be positioned 700-900mm above a worktop or table depending on ceiling height. The dimmable GX53 modules require a compatible LED dimmer to adjust brightness from full output down to ambient levels.

The brushed bronze finish on the glass gives the pendant a warm metallic presence under both daylight and artificial light, contrasting with the black canopy and chrome rods. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral, slightly cool white that enhances visibility for food preparation, reading and detail work without the yellow cast of warm white LEDs. At 3.1kg the pendant requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or rated rose capable of supporting the weight across the full 720mm span.

Frequently Asked

Is the Tonic dimmable?

Yes. The integrated GX53 LEDs are dimmable, but require a compatible LED dimmer switch. Standard incandescent dimmers may cause flickering or damage to the modules. Check dimmer compatibility before installation.

What height above a kitchen island is recommended?

For a kitchen island or worktop, position the pendant 700-900mm above the surface. This range provides task lighting without the shades obstructing sightlines. The adjustable drop allows fine-tuning based on ceiling height.

Can the GX53 modules be replaced?

The GX53 modules are integrated and designed for long-term use, typically rated for 15,000-25,000 hours. Replacement depends on the specific module design — contact Mantra or a qualified electrician if a module fails within the warranty period.

What's the difference between 4000K and 3000K?

4000K is a cool white light with a neutral, slightly blue tone that enhances focus and visibility for task work. 3000K is warm white with a softer, yellower tone suited to ambient and relaxation settings. The Tonic is available in both colour temperatures.
