The Tonic is a 14-light cluster pendant built around a 600mm black circular canopy from which fourteen individual pendants drop at varied heights, each finished in either black, chrome, bronze or copper. Each pendant houses a GX53 socket (bulbs sold separately) and the cables are adjustable on installation from a minimum 480mm drop to a maximum 2000mm, allowing the cluster to be configured for different ceiling heights and spatial compositions.

Designed for double-height hallways, open-plan kitchen-diners, hotel lobbies and commercial atriums where ceiling heights exceed 2.7m, the Tonic works as both ambient and feature lighting. The 3000K warm white colour temperature from GX53 LED bulbs creates a soft, inviting light across multiple points, reducing harsh shadows under high ceilings. The staggered drop of the pendants means light is distributed across different vertical planes rather than concentrated in a single horizontal field, which suits tall spaces better than a single-level chandelier.

The mix of four metallic finishes — matt black, polished chrome, brushed bronze and polished copper — gives the cluster visual complexity without needing ornate detailing. Each pendant is a simple cylindrical form approximately 50mm diameter, so the decorative effect comes from the multiplicity and finish variation rather than individual complexity. The combined weight of 12.3kg means the canopy must be fixed to a ceiling joist or into a ceiling with appropriate load-bearing fixings — the fitting is not suitable for plasterboard-only ceilings without reinforcement. The Tonic is dimmable when paired with a compatible LED dimmer and GX53 dimmable bulbs.

Does it come with bulbs?

No. The Tonic takes 14 GX53 LED bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 7-9W GX53 bulbs at 3000K warm white to match the rated colour temperature. Ensure the bulbs are dimmable if you plan to use a dimmer.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum 480mm drop suits ceilings from approximately 2.7m upward. The maximum 2000mm drop is designed for double-height spaces, atriums and commercial lobbies with ceilings of 3.5m or higher. The cables are adjustable during installation to suit the specific room height.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when used with dimmable GX53 LED bulbs and a compatible LED dimmer. The fitting itself supports dimming, but both the bulbs and the dimmer switch must be specified for LED use.

Can it be installed on a standard ceiling?

The 12.3kg weight requires the canopy to be fixed into a ceiling joist or reinforced ceiling with appropriate load-bearing fixings. Standard plasterboard-only ceilings without backing will not support the weight safely — consult a qualified electrician before installation.
