Description
The Tonic is a 14 light LED cluster pendant built around a 600mm diameter matt black canopy, from which fourteen cylindrical metal pendants drop on adjustable cables. Each pendant is finished in chrome, bronze or copper, creating a mixed metallic composition when viewed from below. The pendants house GX53 LED lampholders rated at 4000K cool white, providing crisp, neutral light that renders colours accurately without the warm amber cast of 2700K or 3000K sources.
Designed for open-plan kitchens, dining areas and stairwells with ceiling heights of 2.6m or higher, the Tonic uses its 14 light sources to distribute illumination across a wide area rather than concentrating brightness in a single central point. The adjustable drop ranges from 480mm minimum to 2000mm maximum, allowing the cluster to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or kitchen island, or extended into a double-height stairwell or entrance hall. The dimmable function works with compatible LED dimmers, reducing output for evening use.
The mixed finish across the fourteen pendants — chrome, bronze and copper in varying proportions — gives visual texture without requiring patterned shades or coloured glass. Each metallic cylinder reflects light differently depending on its finish, with the chrome catching highlights sharply, the bronze adding warmth, and the copper providing a mid-tone between the two. The matt black canopy anchors the cluster visually and conceals the ceiling rose connection and cable entry points. At 12.3kg the fitting requires a secure ceiling joist or a reinforced ceiling rose rated to carry the weight.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Tonic take?
The Tonic uses GX53 LED bulbs, fourteen in total. GX53 is a low-profile twist-and-lock base typically used in recessed and semi-recessed fittings. Bulbs are sold separately — choose GX53 LEDs rated at 4000K to match the specified colour temperature.
Is the Tonic dimmable?
Yes, when paired with GX53 dimmable LED bulbs and a compatible LED dimmer. Not all GX53 LEDs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before purchase. The dimmer must be rated for LED loads rather than older incandescent or halogen dimmers.
What ceiling height is needed?
The 480mm minimum drop suits ceilings from 2.6m upwards when the pendant is positioned above a table or island. For double-height spaces or stairwells, the 2000mm maximum drop allows the cluster to extend into the vertical volume without appearing too compact.
How is the weight supported?
At 12.3kg the Tonic requires a ceiling joist or a reinforced ceiling rose rated to carry the load. Standard plasterboard fixings are insufficient — the canopy must be secured to structural timber or a suitable anchor point capable of supporting at least 15kg.
