Description

The Tonic is a 14 light dimmable LED bar pendant with fourteen cylindrical GX53 lamp heads suspended from a 900mm x 300mm black metal canopy. Each lamp head is finished in polished copper, polished chrome or bronze, with the mixed metallic finishes arranged across the canopy to create visual variation along the linear form. The 2700K warm white GX53 lamps produce ambient downlight through frosted glass diffusers at the base of each cylinder.

Designed for dining tables longer than 2m, kitchen islands and high-ceilinged open-plan spaces, the Tonic works best where the ceiling height is 2.8m or above to accommodate the minimum 480mm drop plus the pendant's own height. The adjustable drop extends from 480mm to 2000mm, giving flexibility to position the lights at the correct height above a worktop or table. The dimmable LED feature requires a compatible trailing-edge dimmer to adjust light levels from full output down to a low ambient glow.

The mixed metal finishes bring depth to the linear arrangement: polished copper provides warm reflections, chrome adds cooler highlights, and bronze sits between the two with a darker, subtly muted tone. The black canopy and suspension cables recede visually, leaving the lamp heads to define the fixture's character. At 12.1kg the canopy requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or reinforced rose, particularly given the 900mm span and multi-point suspension load.

The frosted look softens the warm 2700K output, reducing glare when the lights are viewed directly across a table or worktop, and the 900mm length suits longer surfaces well.

Are the LEDs integrated or replaceable?

The Tonic uses GX53 lamp sockets, meaning the LEDs are replaceable disc-style bulbs rather than permanently integrated modules. GX53 LEDs are available separately and twist-lock into the socket.
