Tokio 1 Light Table Lamp - Polished Chrome & Gloss White

The Tokio is a 160mm cube table lamp with a polished chrome frame supporting an interlaced gloss white acrylic shade wrapped around a central crystal glass core. A single G9 bulb (sold separately) illuminates the layered materials from within, with the crystal core refracting light outward through the white acrylic pieces to cast geometric shadows and diffused glow across nearby surfaces.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables, sideboards and living room accent positions, the Tokio works where a compact directional light source is needed without the bulk of a traditional table lamp. The 300mm overall height places the light source at a comfortable level for reading over a shoulder or illuminating a narrow hallway console without dominating the surface. The 160mm square footprint keeps the lamp stable on surfaces as small as a bedside table while the polished chrome and white finish pair cleanly with contemporary, minimalist and mid-century interiors.

The gloss white acrylic pieces are arranged in an interlocking pattern that leaves gaps for light to escape at varying angles, creating a diffused wash rather than a harsh point source. The crystal core adds weight and optical interest, refracting the G9 bulb's output into multiple beams that shift as you move around the lamp. The polished chrome base and frame reflect ambient room light during the day, keeping the lamp visually present even when switched off. At 1.5kg, the lamp has enough mass to resist tipping on deeper-pile rugs or when cables are pulled taut.

What bulb does it take?

The Tokio takes a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. We suggest pairing it with a 3-5W LED G9 in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside or accent lighting. Halogen G9 bulbs are compatible but run hotter and consume more power.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Not all LED G9 bulbs dim smoothly, so check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before pairing with a dimmer.

How is the shade cleaned?

The gloss white acrylic can be wiped with a soft dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or marks, a barely-damp cloth with water is acceptable, but avoid sprays or chemical cleaners that can dull the gloss finish or damage the acrylic over time.

What surfaces does it suit?

The 160mm square base works on bedside tables, narrow console tables, sideboards and shelving. The lamp's 1.5kg weight keeps it stable on most surfaces including short-pile rugs, but on thick or shag rugs it benefits from being placed on a hard surface or tray to prevent tipping.
