Terra-3 1 Light Glass Pendant - Smoked Glass & Chrome

The Terra-3 is a 200mm smoked glass pendant with a chrome metal frame, suspended on a 2m black fabric cable. A single G9 bulb fitting sits inside the hand-blown glass diffuser, which tapers from a narrow neck to a wider flared base. The smoked glass finish softens the light output while maintaining downward throw, making the pendant function as both task and ambient light.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables, breakfast bars and hallway positions, the Terra-3 works as a solo fitting over a 900-1200mm-wide surface or clustered in multiples over longer runs. The 200mm diameter keeps the visual footprint compact without looking undersized, and the 110mm shade depth sits proportionally between shallow dish pendants and deeper bell shades. The 2m cable drop is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to be set at the correct height above a worktop or table.

The chrome frame contrasts with the smoked glass and the matt black fabric cable, giving the fitting a mixed-material finish that suits industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors. The blown glass diffuser has a subtle ripple texture across its surface from the forming process, visible when the pendant is lit. The G9 bulb is accessed by removing the shade from the frame, and the fitting is compatible with dimmer switches when paired with a dimmable G9 LED capsule.

Ideal Lux manufactures the Terra-3 in northern Italy and backs the fitting with a 5-year warranty. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor locations only — bathrooms, outdoor covered areas and damp zones require a higher IP rating.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Terra-3 takes a single G9 capsule bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W dimmable LED G9 in 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light. The shade opening accommodates standard G9 capsules up to approximately 60mm length.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fixture itself supports dimming — bulb choice determines dimmer compatibility.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Terra-3 to dry indoor locations only. Bathrooms require a minimum IP44 rating for zones 1 and 2, and IP65 for zone 0 (inside the shower enclosure).

How is the glass shade cleaned?

The shade lifts off the chrome frame for cleaning. Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth and a mild glass cleaner, then dry thoroughly before refitting. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the smoked glass finish.
