Description

The Tacca is a 700mm oval LED suspension light built around a continuous polished chrome ring with an integrated frosted acrylic diffuser. A 28W LED strip runs inside the oval frame, casting 2500lm of 3000K warm white light through the frosted panel to provide even downward and upward wash. Four steel suspension cables attach to the polished chrome ceiling plate and the oval frame at four points, keeping the ring level and stable while allowing the drop to be adjusted between 300mm and 1000mm during installation.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living areas where a large horizontal light source is preferred over multiple smaller pendants, the Tacca provides functional light without the hard shadow edges that come from directional spotlights or bare bulbs. The 700mm oval span suits tables between 1600mm and 2000mm in length. The polished chrome reflects surrounding surfaces and daylight, which helps the fitting sit comfortably in both warm-toned and cool-toned interiors. The frosted diffuser hides the LED strip entirely when viewed from any angle below the fitting.

The integrated LED is non-dimmable and non-replaceable, running on standard UK 230V mains without needing external drivers or transformers visible in the room. The 2500lm output is comparable to a traditional 150W halogen but draws only 28W, reducing running costs while producing less heat. The polished chrome finish shows fingerprints during handling but cleans easily with a microfibre cloth once installed. At 2kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or suitable anchor point rated for overhead loads.

Is the Tacca dimmable?

No. The integrated LED runs at a fixed 28W output and is not compatible with dimmer switches. The fitting is designed for constant-brightness applications where the full 2500lm output is always needed.

What table size does it suit?

The 700mm oval span works best above dining tables or kitchen islands between 1600mm and 2000mm long. For larger tables, consider positioning two Tacca fittings in line or choosing a larger suspension light.

Can the LED be replaced if it fails?

The LED is integrated into the frame and not user-replaceable. Mantra provides a 3-year warranty covering LED failure. After the warranty period, repair or replacement of the entire fitting would be needed.

How is the drop adjusted?

The four suspension cables can be shortened or lengthened during installation by adjusting the cable grips at the ceiling plate. Once set, the drop remains fixed until the fitting is taken down and re-adjusted.
