Description

The Stateroom is a 1575mm brass floor lamp with a turned column base and twin E27 sockets housed beneath a True White cotton linen shade. The brass column runs the full height of the lamp, with decorative turned detailing at intervals along its length, and sits on a circular base with a clear acrylic plinth that raises the base slightly off the floor.

Designed for reading positions beside sofas and armchairs, the Stateroom provides directed light through the twin bulbs (sold separately, each up to 60W) while the fabric shade diffuses the output to reduce glare. The 432mm shade width makes the lamp suited to living rooms, bedrooms and studies where floor space allows for a substantial fitting without overwhelming the room. The 1575mm height positions the light source at a useful level for seated reading without needing to be placed on a side table.

The brass finish is a warm, slightly burnished tone that sits between polished and antique brass, pairing comfortably with warm wood furniture, traditional upholstery and mid-century interiors. The fabric shade is stitched from natural cotton linen fibres rather than synthetic fabric, giving it a textured, slightly uneven appearance when lit that adds to the traditional character. The lamp has two E27 (Edison screw) sockets, each rated for bulbs up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading light.

Is the lamp dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb choice. If you fit dimmable LED or halogen E27 bulbs and connect the lamp to a compatible dimmer switch, the Stateroom can be dimmed. The lamp itself has no built-in dimmer control.

How is the lamp switched on and off?

The Stateroom has no foot switch or pull cord. It is typically switched at the wall socket or via an inline cable switch if one is fitted to the mains cable during installation.

Can the shade be cleaned?

The cotton linen shade can be dusted with a soft brush or vacuum attachment on low power. For deeper cleaning, spot-clean gently with a barely-damp cloth and distilled water, avoiding soaking the fabric. Do not use chemical cleaners or fabric sprays.
