Description

Round, black and just 84mm across, this is a small spotlight that sits low and quiet overhead. It takes one GX53 lamp, the flat disc sort, and that shallow lamp shape is what keeps the body so short. A maximum of 12W means an LED is the sensible choice, and that is what we would fit here. It is not dimmable, so give it a plain on-off switch rather than a dimmer circuit.

Small round spotlights like this earn their keep where a ceiling is low or a room is tight: a hallway, a landing, a boot room, the run above a kitchen worktop, or a line of them down a corridor. The shallow body reads as part of the ceiling rather than something suspended from it, which suits flats, loft rooms and anywhere headroom is precious. A single fitting will do for a cloakroom or a shelf recess, while several spaced out will cover a bigger floor evenly. If you are grouping them, keep the spacing even and the light stays comfortable rather than patchy. We keep this one to dry rooms indoors, well away from shower spray and anywhere it might catch the weather.

The black finish keeps it discreet against a pale ceiling, and the fitting is double insulated. It carries a one year warranty. Upkeep asks little: with the power off and the lamp cool, a dry cloth over the outside is enough, and nothing needs polishing. Lamps are supplied separately.
