Description

The Space pendant is a 38cm spherical shade in silver-finished perforated metal, suspended on a 150cm black cable and built around a single E27 lamp holder. The shade is constructed from layered, pierced metal panels that combine concentric circular cut-outs on each face with a fine grid perforation across the body, casting a mix of dappled and patterned light when lit.

The 38cm height and 38cm diameter give it presence over a kitchen island, breakfast bar or smaller dining table without dominating the room. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation to set the pendant at the right drop for a 2.4-2.7m ceiling. Hung individually it works as a single feature light; in pairs or threes spaced along an island it gives a repeating geometric rhythm. The E27 fitting accepts standard LED, filament or halogen bulbs (sold separately).

The silver finish is reflective rather than chrome-bright, picking up surrounding tones rather than producing hard mirror reflections. The pierced face panels create a layered visual effect — the inner rings remain visible through the outer perforations — so the pendant reads as a sculptural object even when switched off. The metal construction keeps the weight manageable for standard ceiling roses while giving the shade enough rigidity to hold its faceted geometry.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A clear filament E27 works well with this shade because the perforated metal projects the bulb's pattern onto surrounding surfaces; an opal bulb gives a softer, more diffuse light.

Can the cable be shortened?

Yes. The 150cm black cable can be shortened on installation to suit the ceiling height. Over a kitchen island the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the worktop; over a dining table, 700-900mm above the surface.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

The 38cm shade height means the pendant works best in rooms with ceilings of 2.4m or higher. For lower ceilings, shorten the cable on fitting so the bottom of the shade still sits clear of head height in walking areas.

Can it be hung in groups?

Yes. Two or three Space pendants spaced 600-800mm apart along a kitchen island or dining table give a repeating geometric arrangement, with the perforated patterns overlapping to extend the light effect across the surface below.
