Description

The Sonoma Valley is a 419mm diameter semi-flush ceiling light with a cream opal glass bowl surrounded by hand-forged metalwork in an aged tortoise shell bronze finish. Four curved arms rise from the ceiling plate, each terminating in a scrolled tip, and meet at a central point above the glass bowl. Leaf detailing accents the canopy and the finial beneath the bowl, giving the fitting a French country character.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m where a full-drop pendant would sit too low, the semi-flush format brings the light closer to the ceiling whilst maintaining decorative presence. The 419mm drop suits entrance halls, dining rooms, bedrooms and sitting rooms where ambient ceiling light is needed without dominating the sightline. The three E27 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the bowl, diffusing light through the cream opal glass to cast a soft glow across the ceiling and into the room.

The aged tortoise shell bronze finish combines darker oxidised tones with lighter bronze highlights where the hand-forged metal has been distressed, giving the metalwork an antique appearance that pairs well with cream-painted walls, oak furniture and warm-toned interiors. The opal glass softens the light output and hides the bulbs when viewed from below. Can it be fitted to a sloped ceiling?

The semi-flush format is designed for flat ceilings. Fitting to a sloped ceiling would cause the bowl and metalwork to hang at an angle, which would look incorrect and may affect the glass seating. For sloped ceilings, a pendant light with an adjustable canopy is a better choice.
