Description

The Solum is a 2-light wall bracket in satin brass, with curved arms extending from an oval backplate to support white organza lampshades. Clear crystal bobeches sit at the base of each shade, positioned above the E14 bulb holders. The arms curve outward symmetrically, giving the fitting a 335mm projection from the wall and a 430mm total width.

Designed for hallways, bedroom walls flanking a headboard, or either side of a bathroom mirror, the Solum provides symmetrical mid-level ambient light. The organza shades soften the light output from the two E14 bulbs (sold separately), preventing direct glare while still allowing enough brightness for general illumination in a 3-4m room. The dimmable E14 fittings allow the light level to be adjusted depending on time of day or room use.

The satin brass finish is brushed to reduce reflections and patina over time, developing a warmer tone with exposure to air. The crystal bobeches below each shade act as drip trays historically and add a small amount of refraction, catching ambient light even when the wall light is switched off. The organza fabric is pleated and held on a metal frame that clips around the E14 bulb holder. IP20 rated for dry indoor use only.

What bulb does the Solum take?

The Solum takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs (candle bulbs). Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this wall light with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for bedroom or hallway use.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The E14 fittings are compatible with standard dimmer switches when paired with dimmable LED or halogen bulbs. Check the bulb packaging to confirm dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

Can the organza shades be cleaned?

The organza shades can be dusted gently with a soft dry brush or microfibre cloth. For heavier dust, remove the shade from the metal frame (it clips on) and shake outdoors or vacuum on a low setting using a brush attachment. Do not wash the organza or use liquid cleaners.

What projection does it have from the wall?

The fitting projects 335mm from the wall when installed, measured from the backplate to the outer edge of the shades. Allow at least 400mm clearance in front of the wall light to avoid the shades being knocked when passing.
