Description

At 60mm across and 220mm tall, this is a slim satin nickel piece made to dress a shade rather than to light a room. Its projection is shallow, so it stays close to the fabric and reads as a fine vertical line of soft metal rather than an ornament. The satin sheen is muted, picking up a little light along its length without the hard glint of a polished surface. It carries no lamp of its own; the light comes from the fitting the shade sits on.

It suits the plainer end of a room, where a shade in ivory or grey wants a little definition: a pair of bedside lamps, a table lamp on a hall console, a floor lamp beside a reading chair. Being neutral, it sits happily with brushed steel or chrome lamp bases, and it is a quiet way to tie a shade back to the metalwork already in the room.
