Description

A wide, shallow cylinder finished in silver foil on the outside and lined in white, so what falls below stays clean and neutral while the outer face does the decorative work. At 60cm across and 22cm deep it reads as a broad band rather than a tall drum, and the metallic surface shifts with the room, warming under lamplight and cooling right down in daylight. Being non-electric, it borrows the lampholder of whatever it sits on.

We reach for this one where a room needs width rather than height: hung as a pendant shade over a dining table, or dropped onto a substantial floor lamp base beside a deep sofa. The diameter asks for a bit of air around it, so it suits open-plan kitchens, tall bedrooms and hallways with room to spare more than a tight corner. It works best over a single lamp, and an LED GLS of up to 20W is the sensible choice inside it.

The shade is built on a rolled cylinder with the silver leaf effect laminated to the outer face and a white laminate lining behind it, giving a smooth, even inner surface with no visible seam through the light.
