Description

The Shell is a 66cm diameter circular suspension light with eight adjustable LED disc elements mounted around a gold-finished metal ring frame. Each disc houses integrated warm white 3000K LED and can be rotated independently on its mounting point, allowing the light output to be directed towards specific zones — upward for ceiling wash, outward for ambient spread, or downward for task lighting over a dining table or kitchen island.

Designed for residential dining rooms, open-plan kitchen-diners and commercial hospitality spaces with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the Shell delivers 2120 lumens from 40W of integrated LED across the eight discs. The suspension cables adjust between 300mm and 2000mm drop during installation, with the final height typically set 700-850mm above a dining surface or 2m above floor level in living spaces. The circular frame diameter of 660mm suits tables from 1.2-1.8m in length.

The gold finish is applied to both the circular suspension ring and the rear casing of each LED disc, with the front face of each disc left in contrasting matt white to act as the light-emitting surface. This gives the fixture a two-tone appearance when viewed from below — gold metalwork framing white circular light sources. The 120° beam angle from each disc provides wide spread without harsh pooling. At 2.35kg the fitting requires secure ceiling fixings and is supplied with adjustment hardware for concrete, plaster and timber ceilings.

The Shell is from Mantra's contemporary Spanish-designed collection and carries a 3-year manufacturer warranty. The integrated LED is non-replaceable but rated for 30,000+ hours of operation, equating to approximately 15 years of typical residential use at 5-6 hours per day.
