Description

White faux silk over a rectangular frame, lined in white laminate so the light stays clean rather than tinted. The flat sides and squared corners give a crisper outline than a round shade, which is useful when the lamp base itself is straight-sided or square. The weave has a low sheen that catches the light without glinting, and the fabric softens what passes through it. This is a shade only, so the lamp comes from whatever it sits on; we would reach for an LED golf ball, and it will take up to 40W.

The size suits bedside tables, a narrow console in a hall, or a small lamp on a desk or shelf where a wider shade would look top heavy. It is drilled for dual use, so it will sit on a table lamp or hang from a pendant flex, which makes it a sensible way to tie a bedroom set together. We sell plenty of these in pairs, one either side of a bed, and it is a straightforward swap when an older shade has yellowed or lost its shape.

Fabric is stretched over the frame with the seam kept tight and the top and bottom edges rolled, and the white on white treatment means there is no contrast lining to fade unevenly. To keep it looking fresh, take the dust off with a soft brush or the upholstery head of a vacuum on its lowest setting, working along the fabric rather than across it, and keep water and sprays away from the faux silk. It carries a one year warranty. The wider range runs to round cylinder shades in two sizes, with black, grey, ivory pearl and dual-tone options alongside organza versions in cream and black, so a matching set is easy to build. Lamps are not included.
